Frog Farm is a young 10-acre solar-powered permaculture farm in Takilma, Oregon located at the base of Hope Mountain. Plants are grown in interdependent communities, or guilds, not rows. See above link to learn more about permaculture! Perennial herbs are processed into products in our pharmacy. We welcome pre-arranged visitors to join us in our daily activities.

At Frog Farm we offer two apprenticeship programs, a residential Farm Apprenticeship and a weekly or monthly Herbal Apprenticeship.

The herbal apprenticeship introduces all aspects of herbal medicine making in the home or pharmacy. We discuss the prevention and treatment of common ailments as we focus on planting, tending, harvesting and processing many different medicinal plants. This is a hands-on class!

The Farm Apprenticeship Program teaches many seasonal skills such as tending animals, orchards, nursery plants, perennial herbs, and vegetables, repairing greenhouses, fence building and repair, gathering wild foods, processing and preserving food and herbal remedies (drying, canning, freezing, tincturing, etc.), making wine, gathering seed, etc.
